Central Museum of Metallurgy

Otto Herman House

Otto Herman, a famous natural scientist built his holiday home in the village Hamor in 1890. The original building had been destroyed, but it was rebuilt in 1964. Exhibition about the walk of life of Otto Herman.
Szent Istvan Dropstonecave
Opening hours:
April 16 – October 15: all days from 9:00 a.m. till 17:00 p.m.
October 16 – April 15: all days from 9:00 a.m. till 16:00 p.m.
The last tour starts one hour before closure.
The cave’s full length is 800 m, its deepest point is 55 m. The temparature is not higher than 10Cº, so a pullover is needed. The dropstonecave can be visited since 1931.
Anna cave

The last tour starts one hour before closure.
The cave was explored in 1833 by Andras Stark, who was looking for springs with his colleagues.
Szeleta cave
The exploration of the cave was indicated by Otto Herman and finished by Ottokar Kadic between 1907-13. Several findings proved, that the cave was inhabitated for more than 10 thousand years.
Narrow-Gauge Railway

The winding railway track goes through one of the biggest viaducts of the country (length 64m, height 20m), 2 tunnels, next to the beautiful Lake Hamor and reach the Trout Farm of Garadna. Trains run all year round, closed and heated wagons are provided during the winter season.
Trout Farm of Garadna

May 01 – September 30: from Wednesday till Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 17:00 p.m.
The farm was built in 1934. There is a laboratory and a trout breeder room on the ground floor and a flat on the second floor. The founder and first leader of the farm was Istvan Vasarhelyi, who lived there. A speciality of the farm is the natural environment, which helps to breed the trouts on a healthy way. From spring to autumn the chosen trout can be fried on the spot.
